The perfect weekend getaway, store-front or retreat lodge built for you!
Outside wall height = 8' Inside wall height = approx. 7' Loft height at center: 16' wide = 6' tall, 20 wide = 7' tall. Wall heights may be raised, ask sales rep for price. A raised wall allows for a "split" staircase.
All roof trusses spaced 24" on center, are fabricated from selected grades of material (2"x6" on 16' wide and 2"x8" on 20' wide) for maximum strength. All trusses are constructed with steel connector plates like house trusses. The roof is sheathed with 1"x10" boards extending approximately 12" beyond the building at both ends with 1"x4" fascia trim.
30 year fiberglass shingles are used just like a house. An aluminum ridge vent is placed in the peak of the roof.
Three sidings are available: 1. Rough sawn Southern Yellow Pine t1-11 Plywood 2. Factory Primed Duratemp siding 3. Horizontal Tongue & Groove Pine
The floor system features heavy 4"x6" supports every 2' with 1"x6" pressure treated tongue & groove pine floor planking. A 2"x6" support is installed across both ends for strength and appearance. When a block foundation is used, 2"x8" floor joists are used in place of 4"x6" supports.
Framing materials consist of SELECT NATURAL grades of western spruce, hemlock, and fir. Top & bottom wall plates are 2"x4". Wall studs are 2"x4" and are placed 24" on center with corner braces used for added strength & stability. Roof trusses extend approximately 5" over sidewalls to create an overhang.
A 40" wide stairway leads to the sleeping loft which covers the entire width and length of the building. The loft is floored with 3/4" plywood on the 2"x12" loft joists.
Site prep/ foundation options:
1. Pole Base- A raised pole base set below the freezing line (32"). Pole foundation installation may be purchased through Buckeye or already prepared before we arrive. Pole foundation is most recommended for sloped land. 2. Footer- A perimeter block foundation set below freezing line is another common option for foundation. Buckeye does not provide block footer services, but may be able to recommend a contractor. 3. Gravel pad- A great foundation for a smaller sized Hunters lodge under 16'x20'. It is simple, cost effective and looks great. The gravel pad is explained in detail with photos HERE 4. Concrete slab- With a ratwall. this allows you to keep the wood floor (for heat retention & appearance), but you may choose to delete the floor off the price and use the slab as your floor (more common for workshops, etc.).
